We all get those nervous, excitement butterflies when we are about to do something for the first time, and for me, that's prepping for my very first pop-up market! Here's a peek at what it's been like getting ready for my first vendor market (and what I've learned along the way!).
Product Lineup:
The first obvious question I asked myself, "What should I bring?" I want to make sure I have a little bit of everything... enough to show what Heavenly Bliss Skincare is all about, without overwhelming my table. Here's what I've chosen:
Sugar Scrubs - Luxurious exfoliant & moisturizer, always a hit!
Lip Balms - Everyone needs some lip balm! A must-have.
Tattoo Balm - For new ink, or to keep existing tattoos looking fresh!
Body Butters - For deep hydration! Your skin will thank you.
Insect Repellent - Because in NC... we need this in every season.
Makeup Remover/Toner - My personally most used product!
Nail/Cuticle Oil - A top seller, and so effective!
Sample (Try Me) section! I plan to set up samples of each product so people can smell and apply products before purchasing! This is a great way to engage and start conversations with people as well. I can be introverted & awkward at times, so this is the perfect way to bounce off of customers comments or questions when trying things out!
I've also made a few fun vinyl sticker designs to match my vibe! To give shoppers something extra to smile about, and a way to promote my business even more!
Creating a Cozy & Professional Booth:
Okay, planning how to set up my booth has taken over my brain at this point. I want my space to feel inviting, clean, and true to my brand. A little slice of skincare heaven! Here's what I've purchased and prepped:
10x10 tent, 6ft foldable tables, table clothes, customized banners, display risers, wooden trays, floor sign, small chalk table signs, letter board to display prices, framed QR code to direct people to my website, gift bags, POS payment device, cute small plants for table decor, camping chair because your girl has back problems and will need to sit down occasionally. Ha!
Final Thoughts:
Doing my first pop-up market is way more than just a sales opportunity. My goal is to show up and put myself out there, connect with people, and share the brand I've built from the ground up. I feel so incredibly blessed and grateful to be in the position I'm in. Whether I sell out or only sell a few items, this is a huge step and I'm proud of myself. After leaving the military, I wasn't sure if I'd feel a sense of purpose again. Starting this business and getting involved with my community is reminding me what it feels like to serve others and show up with pride. It's healing.
If you're local to the Raleigh, NC area, I'd LOVE to see you there! Come say hi and try a sample!
